Bali continues to be Indonesia's number one tourist destination. With Mount Agung now settling back down, the island is ramping up for Peak Season.

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, November 9, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Indonesia was nominated in a number of categories in the 2017 World Travel Awards. Bali remains, however, the most popular destination for tourism in this archipelago nation. The sheer variety of options for your holiday, from lying on golden sand beaches, to yoga retreats in the jungle to action packed and adrenaline pumping, not to mention the opportunities for cultural exploration and discovery are just some of the factors that attract visitors from around the globe in ever increasing numbers. And as you’d expect the services and amenities for visitors are equally of note.

Whilst Indonesia was nominated for a number of 2017 World Travel Awards, it was Bali that walked away with the top prize in two categories; The Four Seasons Resort, Jimbaran winning the title of Asia’s Best Honeymoon Resort and Waterbom being awarded the title of Asia’s Leading Waterpark.

The natural scenery in Bali may be one of the island’s greatest attractions. As events over recent months have proven, mother nature remains the true matriarch of the island. Mount Agung, Bali’s tallest and most sacred volcano, which last erupted in 1963 saw a dramatic increase in activity in September; a 12 km exclusion zone was put in place and thousands of people were evacuated from their homes on the slopes of the volcano.

Whilst Mount Agung is about 60kms from the main tourist areas in the South of the island, as well as the devastating consequences for the families effected by evacuation, the number of visitors to the island also fell and people delayed booking holidays. One of the major concerns was that travel insurance companies would had stopped providing cover for any loses, including flight cancellations associated with Mount Agung, should it erupt.

The alert status for Mount Agung has been down graded, as the number of tremors has decreased significantly. As a result of this the good news is that travel insurance companies are now covering for travel to Bali again. This is great news for visitors who are able to travel with the peace of mind of knowing they are fully insured. There are also many great deals to be had on accommodation as many hotels and villas have slashed rates as a result of the fall in visitor numbers due to the volcano. So as we lead up to Peak Season, over Christmas and New year, there really isn’t a better time to book your Bali holiday. Bali villas provide the ideal holiday accommodation for many; there’s something special about your own private space, pool and staff to look after your every need.

Bali Villas and More (www.balivillasandmore.com) has an extensive portfolio of villas to rent, across the island suitable for all budgets.
