Lagardère Travel Retail wins key contract in Senegal at new Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar

SENEGAL. Lagardère Travel Retail has been awarded a ten-year contract to manage duty free and convenience shops at the new Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD). The country’s new international airport is scheduled to open by 7 December.

AIBD is managed by the Operating Company, a consortium composed of Summa, Limak and the AIBD S.A. (a Senegalese government entity).

Lagardère Travel Retail will operate duty free shops covering 1,000sq m, offering perfumes and cosmetics, confectionery, tobacco, liquor, accessories and electronics. It will also run a 100sq m Relay store focusing on press, books, snacks and souvenirs.

In 2016, the existing international airport, Leopold Sedar Senghor, welcomed close to 2 million passengers.
