A date has been announced for the soft launch of a new burger joint heading to a bustling attraction on the Kent coast. Knowing Meat, Knowing You will be the latest addition to Folkestone Harbour Arm’s expansive food and drink offering, bringing high quality comfort food to the seaside venue.
While bosses say they are “almost ready to open the doors for real”, hungry customers will be able to get their first taste of Knowing Meat, Knowing You on Wednesday, April 16 when the restaurant hosts a “practice run”. Taking place between 12pm and 6pm, patrons will be able to tuck into juicy burgers, mac and cheese, crispy fried chicken, topped fries and more.
To celebrate the soft launch, a 20 per cent discount will be applied to all food while stocks last. Owners Clint Davies and Lizzie Batchelor say they are using this practice run to fine-tune their menu and “make sure everything’s just right”.
Announcing the restaurant’s spring launch at the Harbourside Square, the pair said: “After years of dreaming, scheming and taste testing our way through life, we’re finally getting ready to open our doors in Folkestone Harbourside. We’re all about quality British meat, bold flavours and the kind of burgers that linger in your memory - like a good ABBA chorus or a classic Patridge one liner.

“Whether you’re after a juicy dry aged beef burger, some lip smacking buffalo and blue cheese wings or a glass of cool crisp Kentish wine and a natter - we can’t wait to welcome you in. There’s not long to wait now.”
Clint and Lizzie will not be the only new vendors at Folkestone Harbour Arm this year as they join six more businesses setting up shop for the 2025 season. Other upcoming additions for foodies to get excited for include a spot specialising in statement sandwiches, another bringing Nepalese street food to the area for the first time, alongside an acclaimed pizza business serving mouth-watering slices.

Lizzie from Knowing Meat, Knowing You explained why they chose Folkestone Harbour: “The street food scene in London is really hard to get into, there are lots of people trying in quite a small space. Then when we came here you could see the energy in what was going on at Folkestone Harbour… But the vibe here is to support independent businesses. You get that from the Harbour and you get that from the visitors to the Harbour."
