Why are Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez holding rallies?

What they're saying:

According to Sanders' campaign website, the events are meant to discuss how to "take on the Oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country."

On Saturday, Sanders called out President Donald Trump and his administration, and Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, calling Trump "A President who undermines the Constitution every day."

"We're going to make our revolution with joy! We're going to sing and dance our away to victory against hatred and divisiveness," Sanders said, adding, "Your presence here today is making Donald Trump and Elon Musk very nervous."

"All over this country, in Vermont, California, all over this country, we have a serious problem with drug addiction, with alcoholism, with other forms of addiction," Sanders said. "But in my honest opinion, the most serious addiction crisis we face is the addiction of the oligarchy toward greed. They've got billions and billions of dollars (and) it's not enough: They need more. And if they have to step on the poor and the disabled and working class people, that is what they will do unless we stop them and we will stop them."

SUGGESTED: LAUSD denies entry to alleged federal agents at 2 elementary schools

Ocasio-Cortez criticized the President's immigration policies, calling out what she called "ICE officials attempting to enter two LAUSD schools to target kids" The LAUSD confirmed earlier this week that federal officials tried to gain access to Lillian Street and Russell elementary schools in South Los Angeles. In a statement to FOX 11, the Department of Homeland Security said that agents were trying to perform welfare checks on children who had arrived at the border unaccompanied.
