Treebo Accor InterGlobe Mid-Market Hotel Growth in India
Treebo Hospitality Ventures (THV), a tech-enabled hotel chain in India, has entered into a partnership with global hospitality company Accor and InterGlobe Enterprises, an Indian travel conglomerate. As part of this agreement, Treebo will lead the expansion of Accor’s Ibis and Mercure brands in India under a master license arrangement.
Treebo, which operates over 800 hotels across 120 cities, aims to strengthen its presence in the mid-market segment through this partnership. The collaboration will focus on using Treebo’s technology and distribution network to support growth.
"This announcement is a pivotal moment for THV," said Sidharth Gupta, Co-founder of Treebo. "With Accor and InterGlobe's backing, we now have a powerful platform to serve both small and large-format hotels in the mid-market segment. Together, we're unlocking the next phase of India's hospitality transformation."
Treebo has signed agreements with property owners to launch 10 Mercure hotels, adding more than 700 rooms. These hotels will be located in Bangalore, Siliguri, Calicut, Mysore, Alwar, and Haridwar—cities where demand for branded hotels is increasing.
Accor and InterGlobe will also invest in Treebo, becoming the largest minority shareholders. The three companies will consolidate their development and management operations under a single independent entity, which will handle Accor’s expansion in India, including luxury and lifestyle brands under its Ennismore division.
Gaurav Bhushan, Director of Accor India, stated, "Treebo's agility, innovation, and deep reach in the market make it an ideal partner to scale our Ibis and Mercure brands. This partnership unlocks a new growth engine for Accor in India."
Treebo will continue to grow its own mid-market brand, Medalio, which focuses on premium properties with fewer than 50 rooms. By incorporating Ibis and Mercure, which target hotels with 50–125 rooms, Treebo plans to offer a range of options within the mid-market category.
This partnership is expected to support Treebo’s expansion in India’s hospitality sector, driven by rising domestic travel and demand for branded, technology-based hotel experiences.
