Young Chefs will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Keokuk Public Library. This week is pancake art using made-from-scratch batter.
The Keokuk City Council will hold a special work session at 4:30 p.m. at Keokuk City Hall, 501 Main St. Agenda items include review of revenues and a hotel/motel tax fund discussion.
Friday
Argyle Boosters are holding a fish fry at the Argyle Community Center at 5 p.m. with fish from MAFAB fish. Proceeds are going towards the construction of a concession stand at the ball field. Cost is $12 per plate.
Adult Easter Party with a flashlight dash will take place from 6-11 p.m. at the Southside Boat Club. There will be various activities with games and prizes and Contingency will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Fat Jimmy’s will be serving food from 5-8 p.m. Event is free and open to the public.
Head First will perform from 8-11 p.m. at the Cellar, 29 S. Second St. in Keokuk.
Saturday
Kids Day at Jim’s Greenhouse, 2407 280th St. north of Montrose will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be farm animals to pet, reptiles to see, planting activities, temporary tattoos and more. Admission is free.
Carthage Community Easter Egg Hunt will be at 10:30 a.m. at 303 N. Second St., Carthage, Illinois. Kids can get a pic with the Easter Bunny, hunt in the 10,000 egg hunt for exciting prices and the firsts 200 people get a breakfast of pancake-wrapped sausages on a stick.
A vendor show will be held at the Keokuk mall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a variety of vendors and Ashlynn Billings will be holding a painting class as well in the old nail salon.
Egg Hunt on the Prairie will take place at 2 p.m. at the Lee County Conservation Center, 2652 Highway 61 north of Montrose. Doors open at one for visitors to explore and learn and a story walk activity will be set up on the prairie trail. There will separate age groups and the hunt is for those from toddler to sixth grade. The event is free to all.
Riders in the Sky will perform at 2 p.m. at the Legacy Theater in Carthage, Illinois. Winners of two Grammy Awards, the group brings comedy and western tunes. See the Legacy Theater website for more information.
Remember the COVID cruises? This Saturday from 5-10 p.m. there will be a downtown cruise in that spirit, without the virus.
Keokuk Athletics Boosters Night will start at 6 p.m. at the Hidden Tower, 2416 340th St. A fun-filled evening of drinks, delicious food, great music, and FUN to help support Keokuk Chiefs Athletics!
The Keokuk Yacht Club will host a steak fry starting at 6 p.m. with JAB performing from 8-11 p.m. All are welcome. Reservations required for the steak fry, call 319-524-9469.
Molly Hurley Memorial Scholarship music trivia and silent auction fundraiser night starts at 6 p.m. at Meyers’ Courtyard. Cost is $10 per person for teams up to eight. also a 50/50 raffle. Bring snacks.

Sunday
Easter Bunny Bash at the Montrose Health Center, 400 S. Seventh St., Montrose, will be from 1-3 p.m. Bring the kids for a fun-filled afternoon wit the Easter Bunny, crafts, party bags and bake sale.
The Argyle Boosters will hold a chicken fry at Charleston Board of Trade from 4-7 p.m. Dinner is $15 for adults, $10 for kids (10 and under), with all you can eat chicken, salad, and nonalcoholic drink. A free-will donation bake sale accompanies the dinner.
