A new Marriott hotel has just opened in India, in a wild and wonderful place that's home to one of the densest tiger populations in the country. The Jim Corbett Marriott Resort & Spa is set in the wilderness of Uttarakhand, in Jim Corbett National Park - India's first national park, named for the hunter and conservationist who played a major role in establishing it back in 1936 - and is a gateway to jungle safaris, nature walks and bird-watching excursions.

The retreat is located in dense forest and on the bank of the Kosi River, an area rich in flora and fauna and the cornerstone of Project Tiger, a wildlife conservation movement offering visitors a rare chance to witness the Bengal tiger in its natural habitat.
Guests can stay in one of 99 rooms with private balconies and large windows with views of the Malani Range and Kosi River, and indulge in the flavours of the local Kumaoni cuisine. The resort is the 13th Marriott hotel under the brand in India. marriott.com
