Kremlin investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev says the Trump administration understands Russia, could soon resume direct air travel

Kremlin investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev reported from Washington on Thursday that he’s completed two days of talks with “key members of the Trump administration” and achieved “significant progress” on a ceasefire in Ukraine. 

Dmitriev, who heads the Russian Direct Investment Fund, told reporters that the White House “hears Russia’s position and understands its concerns.” He also indicated that the negotiations could soon restore direct air travel between Russia and the United States. The next round of talks will be determined “in the near future,” he added.
