One of the North East's award-winning spas has launched a new luxury package perfect for anyone in need of a relax.
Ramside Spa, based at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa just outside of Durham city centre, has just unveiled details of its Tranquil Escape Spa Break, which is available to book now from Mondays to Thursdays until the end of April.
The package, which costs £299 per couple, offers full use of the spa from 10am until 10pm on the day of arrival, including a special 40-minute treatment. This means full access to the spa's outdoor pools, its hydrotherapy pool and its 'Frigidarium' ice plunge pool, along with its thermal suite.
Guests can choose from a relaxing Indian head massage, a reflex foot treatment, or an intensely cleansing salt scrub for their treatment. And the deal also includes dinner with a £25 per person allowance at the spa's Asian restaurant Fusion, followed by an overnight stay in a premier room.
Rooms at Ramside Spa Hotel are available to book directly through its website, as well as on the likes of Booking.com where it has earned an average score of 8.4 out of 10 based on more than 3,000 reviews from guests, and Expedia. The hotel is home to 127 bedrooms and suites offering views across its 350 acres of private grounds - or for a more unique stay, guests can book a night in one of the Luxury Treehouses in the nearby woodland, which are built on stilts with wraparound balconies and hot tubs.
Elsewhere in Durham, the Radisson Blu is currently offering a Couples Spa Day for less than half price through Wowcher. Visitors can book the experience for just £99 instead of £217 via the deals website, which includes four hours of access to leisure facilities including an indoor heated pool, steam room, sauna and gym, as well as a choice of two 25-minute treatments each and a glass of prosecco.
And over in Newcastle, the Crowne Plaza hotel has also dropped the price of a spa day with up to 61% off when guests book through a special Wowcher deal. A spa day for two is on offer for £117 instead of £297, while other options include a spa day for one with afternoon tea for less than half price at £74 down from £178.
Last month, plans were also revealed for a new Center Parcs site including a luxury spa that could open just 60 miles from Newcastle. The holiday firm has given more details of the potential layout of the new site, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders, which is set to include accommodation, retail, leisure facilities and a heritage centre.
Key aspects of the development include an Aqua Sana Forest Spa, indoor waterpark, Subtropical Swimming Paradise, a man-made loch and range of outdoor activities. The loch will be used for recreational activities and sports, while a combined nature and heritage centre with an adjacent restaurant and coffee shop, a wildflower meadows, nature walks and wetlands.
The park will have 700 lodges and is expected to cost between £350m and £400m to build. Read the full story here.
