819 IS YOUR TIME. LET’S GET YOU ANOTHER CHECK OF YOUR CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE FORECAST ON THIS IMPACT DAY. THE FIRST IMPACT DAY OF TWO IN A ROW, RIGHT? THAT’S HOW WE’RE CLOSING OUT THIS MONTH OF MARCH. APRIL SHOWERS SHOWING UP A LITTLE BIT EARLIER. AND ALREADY SOME OF THAT RAIN STARTING TO SHOW UP ACROSS PARTS OF THE REGION. AND WE WILL SEE MORE RAIN AS WE GO THROUGH YOUR SUNDAY TONIGHT AND ALSO TOMORROW ALSO THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. WE CAN’T OVERLOOK A LIMITED STORM CHANCE BETWEEN ABOUT 11:00 AND 6 A.M. TOMORROW. OVERALL, STORMS ARE GOING TO BE WEAKENING, BUT STILL A POSSIBILITY ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND THERE IS MORE RAIN TO TALK ABOUT, SO KEEP THE RAIN GEAR CLOSE AS WE HEAD INTO THE EARLY DAYS OF APRIL. RIGHT NOW WE ARE SEEING RAIN STARTING TO CLEAR OUT OF DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH. WE CAN FOLLOW THAT ALONG THE OHIO RIVER AS WE GET CLOSER TO MCKEES ROCKS. EVENTUALLY, CORAOPOLIS AND SWIFTLY EVERYTHING. THEN TOWARDS THE NORTH AND EAST, A LITTLE BIT WETTER THAT ALSO EXTENDS BACK TOWARDS MUNHALL MCKEESPORT. EVENTUALLY WE’RE GOING TO HEAR THE RAIN HERE AT THE STATION IN WILKINSBURG, CONTINUING UP 28. THE PA TURNPIKE, ROUTE EIGHT, 1979 TO 79, ALL A LITTLE WET HERE THIS MORNING. ALSO A BAND OF LIGHT RAIN COMING ACROSS BEAVER COUNTY THAT INCLUDES BEAVER FALLS RIGHT NOW DOWN TOWARDS ALIQUIPPA, SOUTHERN PARTS OF BUTLER COUNTY. PRETTY WET, ALTHOUGH MOST OF THE RAIN HAS BEEN LIGHT SO FAR THIS MORNING, AND A LOT OF THE FOCUS HAS BEEN NORTH OF I-70. IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN MUCH RAIN QUITE JUST YET THIS MORNING, DON’T WORRY, YOU’LL JOIN THE FUN A LITTLE LATER ON TODAY. SO BACK TO BACK IMPACT DAYS. WE HAVE THAT OFF AND ON RAIN. IT DOES GET SOGGIER THROUGH THE MIDDLE PART OF YOUR SUNDAY, AS I MENTIONED, ALONG WITH THAT RAIN CHANCE, THERE IS A LIMITED POSSIBILITY OF SOME ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THAT WILL BE COMING IN AFTER MIDNIGHT. GIVEN THE TIMING, THESE STORMS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REALLY HAVE A LOT OF OOMPH BEHIND THEM AS WE’RE NOT GOING TO ABLE TO SUPPORT NECESSARILY ANY REALLY INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. BUT STILL A HEADS UP FOR LIGHT SLEEPERS, ESPECIALLY DURING THOSE HOURS AFTER MIDNIGHT, YOU MAY HEAR SOME RUMBLES OF THUNDER, SEE SOME FLASHES OF LIGHTNING AND EVEN THE WIND PICK UP TOO. THEN WE SETTLE INTO A BRIEF DRY SPELL DURING THE EARLY DAYS OF APRIL. SO HERE COMES THE RAIN. REALLY JUST FILTERING IN FROM OHIO OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. IT DOES GET WETTER AS WE APPROACH NOONTIME EARLY PARTS OF THE AFTERNOON. THERE IS A BREAK COMING THOUGH, AS WE GET CLOSER TO DINNERTIME. THAT’S GOING TO ALLOW THE ATMOSPHERE TO CALM DOWN JUST A LITTLE BIT, BUT WE’LL KEEP OUR ATTENTION ON THAT LINE OF STORMS COMING OUT OF OHIO. GREATER RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER. BACK FOR OUR FRIENDS OFF TO THE WEST. BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU, AS WE GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT FROM NEW CASTLE INTO BEAVER, EVEN PARTS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, YOU MAY STILL SEE THE LAST GASP OF THOSE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS AS I PUT FUTURECAST IN PLAY AGAIN. LOOK HOW QUICKLY THINGS BEGIN TO BREAK DOWN. YEAH, ALMOST INSTANTLY THINGS FALL APART. AND AGAIN, IT’S ALL JUST DUE TO THE TIMING OF THIS AND ALSO THE RAIN THAT WE’RE EXPERIENCING DURING THE DAY. STILL EXPECTING THOSE SHOWERS, WHICH COULD BE A LITTLE GUSTY TO LINGER THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THINGS ARE PROBABLY JUST GOING TO BE WET AS YOU AND THE KIDDOS HEAD OUT THE DOOR. NOT DONE JUST YET. AGAIN, KEEP THE UMBRELLAS CLOSE. COLD FRONT STILL HAS TO PASS ON MONDAY AND THAT WILL KICK OFF A FEW MORE BATCHES OF SHOWERS, POSSIBLY EVEN AN ISOLATED STORM. BUT THAT WOULD BE EAST OF THE CITY, AND THAT CHANCE IS ALSO LOW. SO OVERALL, THE THREAT FOR SOME THUNDER FOR THUNDERSTORMS RATHER IS LOW. BUT STRONG WINDS COULD BE CERTAINLY A POSSIBILITY AS WE GO THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. AFTER THOSE BACK TO BACK IMPACT DAYS, WE CATCH A BREAK TUESDAY. MOST OF WEDNESDAY, TEMPERATURES WILL START TO RECOVER, BUT THEN WE ENTER A REAL STRETCH OF APRIL SHOWERS. IT GETS WETTER LATE WEDNESDAY. THURSDAY IN PARTICULAR. THAT’S OUR NEXT IMPACT DAY AND REALLY THE STRETCH THAT DOES EXTEND INTO NEXT WEEKEND COULD PUT OUT ANYWHERE FROM 1 TO 3IN ACROSS THE REGION. IT’S ALL GOING TO BE DEPENDENT UPON WHERE THE STALL BOUNDARY LIKES TO SIT OVER THE COMING DAYS. SO OUR RAINFALL CHANCES MAY FLUCTUATE A LITTLE BIT. WE MAY HAVE TO ADD, SUBTRACT IMPACT DAYS. AT THIS POINT, THOUGH, THE BRIGHT SPOT WE’RE DRY FOR THE HOME OPENER. THAT IS CERTAINLY SOME GOOD NEWS. WOULDN’T STOP FANS. OH NO. I’VE SAT IN THE RAIN AT PNC PARK PLENTY OF TIMES. STILL TONS OF FUN, RIGHT?

Isolated showers, Impact Day Thursday making way to Western PA
Showers and clouds have kept our temperatures in check today, and as a result, should limit any severe chances tonight. Our next line of rain should arrive between 11pm and 4am. As what's left of storms arrive, there will be little fuel for them to work with, so severe weather is unlikely, although a rumble of thunder is possible.ISOLATED SHOWERS, IMPACT DAYS NEXT NEXT WEEK A few isolated showers will end by mid-afternoon Monday as the cold front clears and temperatures drop through the second half of the day.We are dry Tuesday before a warm front lifting through Wednesday brings a few showers. Right now, rain looks to be mainly in the mid and late afternoon. Showers will be around on Thursday, especially south of the city, making an Impact Day. Rain will be hit or miss Friday, so the Pirates game has a chance of being dry. Saturday and Sunday have the potential to be washouts, especially Saturday, when rainfall could be heavy. As of now, models suggest Wednesday through Sunday morning could see one to three inches of rain with locally higher amounts, with the potential of an inch or more in 24 hours. This could cause flooding concerns and river rises. Due to this potential, Saturday and Sunday are Impact Days as well. We turn colder to start the following week.Tonight: Impact Day. Early rumbles of thunder and showers. Temperatures near 60.Tomorrow: Impact Day. Rain until mid-afternoon then falling temperatures. Late day temperatures in the 40s. Wind gusts to 30 mph.Tuesday: Partly cloudy. High of 50. Low of 34.
