Spring break getaways with easy access from the Lower Hudson Valley and NYC
- There are plenty of desirable spring break destinations that are easy access from Westchester County or NYC airports
- Each hotel listed has something unique to offer, be it easy access to excursion opportunities, outdoor recreation, spas and more
- Many spring break destinations work for family vacations, too
It's been a long, cold, wet winter and if you're like me, you're itching to venture somewhere new (and preferably, warm).
I'm not alone. According to a recent American Express Global Travel Trends report, travelers are looking for places that offer a mixture of passion and practicality with 74% planning one to three domestic trips in 2025 and 59% opting for one to three international vacations.
So what are you thinking about? Somewhere relaxing with a spa? A place with a hopping music scene? Family-friendly? Or something more laid back and beachy?
I've got suggestions on all of the above, with easy access from New York airports being key.
The Vendue, Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is at its prime come spring — think warm sunshine, blooming azaleas, and a lively calendar of events including The Credit One Charleston Open, the largest women's-only tennis tournament in North America. For a mix of Southern charm and Parisian flair, check out The Vendue, the city's only arts hotel with more than 200 pieces of original art. It's also known for its rooftop bar as well as its proximity to King Street shopping and Rainbow Row, a colorful landmark. Make plans: 19 Vendue Range, Charleston, 843-577-7970, thevendue.com.
Waldorf Astoria Orlando, Orlando, Florida
There's no better place for families than Orlando. But since mom and dad need R & R too, this luxury resort, which debuted its renovated look two years ago, works for everyone. There's free transportation to the parks, early theme park access, guest rooms with views of Walt Disney World Theme Parks, a hotel Kids Club and a luxury spa. Make plans: 14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Lane, 407-597-5500, hilton.com/en/hotels/orlbcwa-waldorf-astoria-orlando.
The Portofino Hotel & Marina, Redondo Beach, California

Options include ocean kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and catamaran outings. Plus, for ongoing support for the LA wildfires, Portofino has partnered with local charity Baby2Baby to donate 15% of proceeds to the organization with a booking code opt-in, providing essential items to children affected. Bobby Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee
If you're a music lover, you'll enjoy the action at this nine-story property, which features live musical sets and a rotating art exhibit in partnership with the local Red Arrow gallery. There's also plenty of activities nearby as the hotel is steps from Broadway, known for its vibrant honky-tonk scene. Country life is further celebrated with the rooftop lounge complete with a vintage Scenicruiser bus and its own dive bar, Bobby’s Garage.
