China Spy Chief Threatens Taiwan’s Independence Supporters

The head of Beijing’s Ministry of State Security has vowed to fight “Taiwan independence,” calling on the Chinese public to support Beijing’s plan to, as he said, “reunify” the island.

A democratic, self-ruled island, Taiwan is home to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), a major supplier of advanced semiconductors to a number of U.S. tech and defense manufacturers.

The Chinese regime claims the island as its own, however, despite the fact that Taiwan is a de facto independent country, with its own military, democratically-elected government, and constitution. China’s communist regime has never walked back its threats of using force to take control of the island.
