A beauty treatment company used by celebrities including Katie Price carried out a “Brazilian butt lift” in a Glasgow hotel room resulting in a woman allegedly developing a serious infection.

The 49-year-old woman had a procedure where liquid fillers were injected into her buttocks at a Holiday Inn in the city centre.

Doctors at Hairmyres Hospital, in East Kilbride, said scans revealed she had a serious infection and was lucky to escape without sepsis. Environmental health chiefs in Glasgow are now investigating the incident while their counterparts in Edinburgh have also raised concerns about similar procedures.
