Some coverage of the World Cup will have you believe that Qatar is a dry country where you can't buy alcohol. Others may be of the assumption that the official FIFA Fan Festival is now the only place football fans can buy beer, at £12 a pint.
Both those things aren't true. The sale and consumption of alcohol is heavily restricted but it isn't illegal.
