A winter storm set to move through Wyoming this weekend is expected to bring significant snowfall, making for difficult travel in many areas, including interstate highways.

K2 Radio Meteorologist Don Day of DayWeather, Inc. expects travel impacts to be high on Interstates 80 and 25, while I-90 should see a moderate impact.

Day says western Wyoming will see snow develop Friday night, with snow spreading east Saturday into Sunday. Snow accumulation is likely statewide.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Uinta County, southern Lincoln County, most of Sweetwater County, southeastern Fremont County including Lander, and most of Natrona County including Casper.

By Saturday morning, areas including Rock Springs, Muddy Gap, Casper and northeast Wyoming should start seeing snow.

Blowing snow is expected to be a concern in eastern and southeastern Wyoming on Sunday, making for hazardous driving conditions through early Monday.
